Situated on the third floor of a residential building in Kifisia, this apartment’s renovation, aimed to create a warm, functional, and aesthetically pleasing space that reflected contemporary urban living. The architectural approach was based on highlighting the unique colors and materials of the owner’s existing decorative objects, combined with the modern aesthetic and clean lines of the new constructions designed by our studio.
Core of the design was the connection between the existing spaces. Living and dining areas were unified through the use of similar wall color tones, while the use of wooden constructions and timeless decorative elements added warmth and character to the apartment. The living room was designed in such tones and textures, that blended modern eclectic elements with Asian influences, ultimately creating a nostalgic journey through time. Owner’s specific personal objects were incorporated into the new design, showcasing the dialogue between the old and the new. These two areas were separated by a sliding glass door, offering transparency and visual continuity between them.
The kitchen served as a prime example of contemporary design, featuring bold combinations of materials and textures that came together to form a harmonious result. Smooth surfaces, curved corners, wood and marble finishes contributed to a minimalist, contemporary style, characterized by clean and functional aesthetics. The detailed lighting design, along with specific design choices and material selections, contributed to a balanced and atmospheric environment.
The bedroom’s design aimed to create a retreat, a space for relaxation. The striking marble-like headboard introduced a sculptural quality to the room, while the use of dark tones on surfaces and fabrics, alongside materials such as dark wood and green marble, created an atmospheric environment, evoking a sense of luxury. The floating marble table, round mirror, and wooden wardrobe all contributed to the overall aesthetic balance.
This renovation highlights the value of contemporary design combined with a personal approach to it. The spaces are shaped through innovative solutions to serve the practical needs of everyday’ s modern life, while also offering a renewed aesthetic experience for the owner, ultimately delivering an enhanced quality of life.
