In an existing building, we were assigned to design an apartment, in order to accommodate the needs of a single person. Based on his particular aesthetics, our design aims at a raw approach of luxury, inducing the feeling of shelter living. The apartment consists of an integrated living, dining and kitchen area, a guest room and a master bedroom with its en suite bathroom
Entering the apartment, the stone wall’s texture creates a sense of a protective feeling through the atmosphere, while a metal construction separates the living room area from the hall. The complexity of the construction with voids and fills creates an interesting view between the living room and the green wall. As one goes further inside towards the rooms, the sense of being in a cave is enhanced, both with the use of stone walls and metal honeycomb ceiling as well.
The intense dark colors, the rough surfaces of the stone walls, the textured walls and metal details complete the whole design and render it unique.
